How can I upgrade my browser to 128-bit encryption?

The links to Microsoft and Netscape are provided for your use in downloading a 128-bit encryption upgrade. Follow the directions provided below for either Microsoft Internet Explorer, or Netscape Communicator.

To install Microsoft Internet Explorer 128-bit encryption:

1.      Click on the link to Microsoft provided at the end of this section 

2.      You will be informed on the type of browser you are currently running, go to Other Software Available and Click on "Other Options".

3.      Click on the "Extra Security 128-bit Browser" bullet towards the bottom of the page, under Windows 95 and Windows NT 4.0 heading.

4.      A series of screens will guide you through the download process. Please follow the instructions.

5.      After a browser is selected, click on "download now" at the bottom of the page.

6.      As you are downloading, take note of the directory or folder that contains the file you are getting. You will need to find this file to install the product.

7.      After you have downloaded the file, you can retrieve it by using the Find Files or Folders feature in Windows. Enter the file name in the named field and click on Find Now.

8.      To install the software, double-click on the file name.

To install Netscape Communicator 128-bit (strong) encryption:

1.      Click on the link to Netscape provided at the end of this section.

2.      Scroll down to "Lists of Available Software", find the "Netscape Communicator (Including Navigator)" and click on "Communicator 4.0 Standard".

3.      Follow the instructions and select your operating system, language and product version. 

4.      On the page titled "Review your Selection" be sure to check the box for "Download strong U.S./Canada-only encryption if available". (You will be asked to fill out a declaration that you are a U.S. or Canadian citizen or permanent resident before downloading can begin)

5.      Decide whether to download a free copy or one for which you pay, and then click on the appropriate icon under "U.S. and Canadian Customers" at the bottom of the page. (There is no difference in the product itself, but Netscape does not offer technical support for free software. If you elect to purchase the software, you will be taken to a checkout page in the Netscape Store to supply your billing information) 

6.      As you are downloading, take note of the directory or folder that contains the file you are getting. You will need to find this file to install the product.

7.      After you have downloaded the file; install it by double clicking on the file name, which will start the install process.
